I would like to join the green route, will have to get my fuel supply sorted though.

Can we organise fuel in Wilhelmstal? My max range is 160-180km. help!

OK just wanted to ask about your range Smile
Well usually Rico's wife drives behind us as recovery, but not sure about this time. Rico?
If need be I can take some extra fuel with and all we need is a syphon as we will have more than enough Adventures going with us Twisted Evil

Also PLEASE EVERYONE VOTE ON THE POLE SO WE CAN GET AN ESTIMATED NUMBER OF HOW MANY THERE WILL BE DOING THE GREEN ROUTE, OR ANY OF THE OTHER OPTIONS FOR THAT MATTER!

Leez and Almut will go with the car but not sure if they will follow us - i can check - then we throw a can into the car

Man - here's the solution - sell the BMW and the Harley and buy a big BMW with a 600km tank range

I could always join the street riders - with the Harley! Very Happy
If the ladys do not want to follow us, maybe they can meet us in Wilhelmstal?

Essie, the plan currently is anyway for us all to meet up at Wilhelmstal and then to continue from there in 2 groups.
One group doing gravel from Wilhelmstal to Omaruru and the other to go tar to Omaruru. Fuel will not be a problem as I am sure we can get someone to take fuel with to Wilhelmstal.
My wife is also going by car, but she will be going tar and we can always throw a fuel can in there for you.

Oh BTW if you do rock up there with your Harley I might have to pull out my guns

    lol!

Toni will probably not follow the Green route by car, but no problem to arrange fuel @ Wilhelmstal. She will follow the Red run home... on which there are no comments yet...???

Don't think there is any reason to discuss the red route taz! It looks like an awesome ride

Sunday there are three routes back to Windhoek.
    1. Tar al the way back to Windhoek
    2. Green Route from Omaruru to Wilhelmstal, then tar back to Windhoek
    3. Red Route all the way back to Windhoek

    Guys,
Not for the sake of being different or upstream, but solely because I am a son of the desert, I prefer to return by the way below...the yellow(ish) route that is....
It is a mere 57km longer that the red route over (near) Hochfeld and a stretch of 420km on the tank. Idea
Sorry but I just need the wide open space around me...

Dawid isn't that exactly the same route we did on the last trip on our return?
I might be mistaken but that really looks a heck of a lot like it hehehehe.

We have been riding the western areas of Windhoek so much but hardly touched the eastern sections.
My vote is still on the red route for returning to Windhoek Twisted Evil

    I hear you Jacques,

Only the 95km (beautiful) section between Karibib and the C28 is the same.
I don't own a farm, so I do not really appreciate nice fences and cattle that much... Evil or Very Mad

So forgive me when I stick to the deserted desert roads!! Heeehaaa! scooter Twisted Evil

Add the amount of game, trees and bush and there is plenty to look at. Twisted Evil

I agree that fences are a bit of a bummer, but your not supposed to drive through them...

There is very little towards the west we have not done yet - east was just a suggestion at something new with lots of variation.

OK so gravel back to Windhoek we have two routes, Red and Yellow!

Lets get this one under the belt as well as I feel we need to finalize the routes by Wednesday the latest.
The yellow route that Dawid is proposing is a beautiful route with wide open spaces and plenty of solitude. For myself that is awesome but I have traveled the road from Karibib to the C28 several rimes and also the C14/C26 has been travels countless times by myself.

The Red route Rico is proposing is something a bit different, new area and possibility to see lots of game. Once again for myself, the attraction to this route is the fact that I have not really traveled those roads before. Chance to see game up close and to get to know Namibia's gravel options better.

I support the Hochfeld route, but doesn't actually matter to me as long it is gravel

Rico some questions about your Red route back to Windhoek.
If I have it correct the route is 420 km total, which is no problem for the guys on the Adventures. You mentioned Toni will accompany us on the route, so I presume we will be able to load some fuel on there for the guys that will not be able to make the full 420 km Question

Same goes for Dawid's yellow route which will be approximately 475 km. I would presume Question

The yellow route might be a bit of a long stretch for one day as we would look at around 8 hrs. 30 minutes riding time, whereas the red route is about 1and a half hours shorter riding time.

Anyways guys, tomorrow is D-Day where we will have to decide which routes were taking and then finalizing everything.

    To Recap:
So far we have most (5) people that is going Green Route to Omaruru and from what I can see about 3 or 4 that would be willing to do the Red route back on Sunday.
If you have note cast your vote yet on a route to Omaruru, please do so in order for us to get a better count of who is going with what route to Omaruru.

I think the coastal guys can plan this on Saturday evening. We do not have many options but I suggest we come back via Uis and possibly Omdel Dam, then along the pipeline to swakop and Walvis.
